Winter Carnival Snow Statue Winners
It’s not fun to shovel or drive in, but when snow is molded into a statue, it’s beautiful to behold.
Michigan Tech student organizations have spent the last month shaping these statues into works of art.
The winners of the 2012 Winter Carnival snow statue competition were announced today.
Some of them, like fraternity first-place winner Phi Kappa Tau, simply take your breath away.
Topping the women’s groups, and not to be outdone by the men, is Theta Chi Epislon.
The Northern Alliance took first place among the residence halls.
Air Force ROTC soared above the rest in the student organizations division.
Over the next few days, the Michigan Tech campus will be alive with activities for everyone, like horse–drawn carriage rides and dog sled rides.
And there’s no stop to the competitions, like a game of broom ball.
Winter Carnival runs through Saturday.
