Teen Jailed After Jeep Hits Apartment
A Marquette teenager is in the Marquette County Jail after crashing a Jeep into an apartment.
City police say it happened shortly before 8:30 last night at 224 Dobson Place.
That’s within the Lake Superior Village complex.
Police say a 17–year–old boy was trying to park in an assigned space, but he didn’t stop.
He crashed through a brick wall, coming to rest in the living room of the apartment.
The person who lives there was home but was not hurt.
The driver fled on foot but later turned himself in.
He was arrested for operating a vehicle under the influence of drugs, driving in spite of never applying for a license, and failing to report a property damage accident.
The driver was not hurt.
However, two of his three passengers — an 18–year–old Marquette man and a 15–year–old Marquette girl — suffered non–life–threatening injuries.
They were taken to Marquette General, but there’s no word on how they’re doing.
The names of the people involved are not available at this time.
