Catholic Diocese of Marquette Call for Action
The Catholic Diocese of Marquette is calling on Upper Michigan residents to take action against a recent ruling made by the united states department of human services.
As part of the Obama care health plan, most employers in the country will be required to provide sterilization and contraceptives in their health plans.
In Marquette County, this would include employees in catholic schools, hospitals and charities.
If the catholic diocese goes through with the insurance coverage it would be a violation of their conscience.
The only other option would be to withhold insurance from employees, in which case they would be fined by the government.
You can find more information on the united states conference of catholic bishops website.
There you can also find information on how to contact congress in support of legislation that would reverse the ruling.
