One Man Arrested after Weekend Bar Fight

A Marquette County man is in jail tonight after a weekend bar fight in Ishpeming. Ishpeming City Police say it happened just after 1:30 Saturday morning at Hickey’s Bar in Downtown Ishpeming.

An argument broke out between a Champion resident and an Ishpeming man. Police say the Champion man then pulled a knife on the other patron. The Ishpeming resident was able to block the stabbing attempt and pull the knife away with the assistance of other witnesses in the bar.

The Ishpeming man, who was the victim suffered minor injuries and sought his own treatment. The Champion resident was arrested and lodged in the Marquette County Jail. The case has been forwarded to the Marquette County prosecutors office for review.
