Luoma Still on The Run:Day Three
The Marquette County Sheriff’s Office is looking for a Gwinn man who broke away from a deputy Thursday.
The man has been identified as Troy Alan Luoma, age 27, of Gwinn. He is about 6-1, 245 lbs, brown hair and blue eyes.
A two count warrant was issued by the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office on January 27, 2012 charging Luoma with #1 Resisting and Obstructing a Police Officer a 2 year Felony and #2 Escape-Lawful Custody a 1 year Misdemeanor.
Bond on the warrant is $15,000 or 10% to cover both charges. Luoma was out on bond on an unrelated case and at his arraignment Thursday morning was ordered by 96th District Court Judge Roger Kangas into the custody of Sheriff’s Deputy Stephen Bonsall, to be remanded to jail.
Luoma bolted before he could be handcuffed. The deputy gave chase, but Luoma was last seen near the corner of Third St. and Baraga Ave. in Marquette.
Witnesses believe they saw Luoma get into a car in the area and leave the area. Judge Kangas also issued a Criminal Bench Warrant for Contempt of Court on Luoma with bond to be set at his arraignment.
Sheriff’s Deputies were assisted by the Marquette City Police in the short chase and search for Luoma on Thursday. State and local law enforcement agencies have also been advised and are on the lookout for Luoma.
Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Troy Alan Luoma is asked to call 911 or your local police department.
