Lake Effect Snow Advisory
Although it’s been cold, the skies have been clear throughout the U.P. today.
That’s a very different picture from yesterday, with what was often heavy snow.
Drivers on US-2 in Iron Mountain had to go a little slower than usual yesterday, with about two inches of fresh snow.
But the total reached eight inches along much of the Lake Superior shoreline.
Gogebic County, Ontonagon County, Keweenaw County and northern Houghton County have a lake effect snow advisory until 7 Thursday morning.
Then those areas have a winter storm watch through late Thursday night.
Alger County and northern Schoolcraft County are in the same situation.
