Fiery Rollover in Delta County
A Delta County woman is in a Wisconsin hospital tonight after a fiery rollover accident yesterday.
69-year-old Sharon Dahl of Cornell was a passenger in a vehicle driven by her husband, 76-year-old Robert Dahl.
According to troopers from the Gladstone State Police Post, the couple was northbound on County 426 – 24th Road when the vehicle left the roadway around 4 pm yesterday.
The vehicle then rolled over and caught fire.
Troopers say a passing motorist, 58-year-old Bruce Pepin, also of Cornell, saw the vehicle on fire and acted quickly.
Pepin put out the fire with a fire extinguisher he obtained from an Escanaba school bus near the scene.
Robert Dahl was treated at OSF St. Francis Hospital.
Sharon Dahl was transferred from that facility to the Medical College of Wisconsin in Milwaukee.
The investigation into the accident is continuing.
