Zonta Club Non-Profit Grants
By the end of this month, a group of Marquette County women wants to hear from area non–profit groups that might be looking for some extra money.
The Marquette Area Zonta Club is still counting the proceeds from its two biggest fundraisers.
Its Koeze nut sale and rose sale are both annual events, and the proceeds are given out as grants to local non–profits.
Kara Applekamp, the club president, says the club is expecting to have about that same amount to work with this year as last — more than $6,000.
The club gives priority to groups that address the needs of women in various ways.
Zonta is an international organization of business professionals dedicated to improving the lives of women.
The Marquette-area club is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year.
