'Good Night Analog' TV Art Piece

One of the U.P.’s art galleries is staging a unique exhibit for the next several weeks.

It’s a reminder of what late night TV was like not too long ago, when every station would sign off and go dark every night.

Kristine Granger is showing her piece ‘Good Night Analog’ at the Marquette Arts and Culture Center.

It looks like a large wooden crate at first, but if you pass through a curtain, you’ll take a trip back in time.

The piece is a cutout section of a living room, with an old analog t–v playing a sign–off video of the national anthem.

It also includes an easy chair, a quilt, a transistor radio and several issues of Life magazine from 1972.

‘Good Night Analog’ is at the Arts and Culture Center through January 27th.
