Spay Day USA
Millions of unwanted or uncared-for pets enter shelters every year.
We all know that in order to control the pet population, it’s important to spay and neuter animals.
But what about those families that can’t afford the costs?
Spay Day USA is a collaborative effort between the U.P. Animal Welfare Shelter and area vets.
Dayna Kennedy of UPAWS says that for a limited time, they’re offering an opportunity to have your dog or cat spayed or neutered at a discounted price.
She says depending on whether or not the pet has been vaccinated, the cost ranges from $29 to $75.
The program is open to low-income families living in Marquette County.
Space is limited; if your pet is in need of services, it’s recommended that you fill out an application as soon as possible.
And for those looking for a new pet, UPAWS is running a “New Year, New Pet” promotion that could help with your New Year’s resolutions — get fit this year with a dog or try lowering your stress level with a new cat.
All pets at the shelter are 20.12% off their listed adoption rate.
