Snow & Winter Tourism
Snowmobiling, snowshoeing, skiing and snowboarding are all part of what makes the U.P. a tourist destination in winter.
With the late arrival of snow, many might think that potential business has been hurt.
However, that’s not the case.
Pat Black of the Marquette Country Convention & Visitors Bureau says many people who visit the U.P. in the winter have come to realize that snow may not always get here before the holidays, but when it does arrive, it comes in buckets.
And even though this is the first real snowfall, the outdoors are ready and waiting to be taken advantage of.
With continued snowfall more than likely, and upcoming events such as the Noquemanon Ski Marathon later this month and the U.P. 200 next month, Black says Marquette County should continue to see good numbers in tourism.
