Teen Injured in Snowmobile Accident
A Wisconsin teenager is recovering after a weekend snowmobile accident in the southern U.P.
The Iron County Sheriff’s Department says it happened shortly after 1:30 Central time yesterday afternoon on Trail #2.
The 15-year-old rider failed to negotiate a curve just east of Forest Highway 16 and lost control.
His sled left the trail, and he was thrown from the machine before it hit a tree.
The boy was taken to Northstar Health System in Iron River for treatment of a leg injury.
There’s no word on how he’s doing.
Northstar EMS, Michigan State Police and conservation officers from the Michigan DNR helped out at the accident scene.
