Marquette Police on Ball Drop Crowds
Marquette kicked off the New Year with its 23rd annual ball drop celebration downtown.
And law enforcement says there were a few more incidents this year than in years past.
The Marquette City Police were out in larger numbers over the holidays.
Sgt. Ryan Grim says the extra officers were on hand to deal with the potential alcohol-related issues that often occur during celebrations, such as fights.
Police say the crowds this year were a little larger than in recent years, but for the most part, the revelers were well-behaved.
