Food and Toy Drive in Marquette
The atmosphere at the Marquette Saint Vincent De Paul store mirrored the hustle and bustle of black Friday today as the non–profit organization held the annual holiday toy and food drive.
More than 300 families took part in this years drive that provides everything needed for a traditional Christmas celebration: including all the ingredients for a holiday meal, clothing and plenty of toys.
The program is open to anyone who is registered to Vinnie’s food pantry.
But they aren’t the only ones who find joy in the event.
The program would not be possible without the communities support;
each year between 40 and 50 volunteers help out with the drive.
Volunteers are always needed as are donations of non–perishable food, clothing, toys and money.
