ABC 10 Coat Drive Kicks Off
With a single digit start to day today, it was dangerously cold. And, even though Upper Michigan has cold weather that hangs around for about half the year, not everyone has warm coats.
The financial pinch has had a big impact on many local families. As a way of helping, ABC 10 and a group of partners are conducting a ‘BUTTON UP THE U.P” coat drive. Radio Results Network and The Mining Journal are helping us promote the button up campaign.
Coats are being collected at the Marquette Mountain Ski Hill. Simply drop off new or gently used coats at the collection box near the ticket window at the ski hill. As a bonus, you’ll get $10 off the cost of a lift ticket for making a donation.
The “BUTTON UP” campaign continues through December 23rd. That’s when the St. Vincent dePaul Society will distribute the coats to needy families.
