Alzheimer’s Wine Tasting
Tomorrow night, a local charity is raising money in a fun way and offering discounts on great pieces for art lovers on your Christmas list.
The Studio Gallery, Risak Pottery and the U.P. Regional Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association are hosting a wine tasting.
The fundraiser will pay for support groups and outreach programs that the Alzheimer’s Association runs.
Heather Addison of the Alzheimer’s Association says the holidays are difficult for anyone with a loved one who has dementia, so the event will be a good chance to commiserate and keep awareness of the disease at the forefront of people’s minds.
The wine has been professionally chosen and will be provided by White’s Party Store of Marquette.
Everyone will also be able to taste professionally catered hors d’oeuvres.
Ed Risak of Risak Pottery says he had a late brother-in-law who suffered from Alzheimer’s disease, so he was very glad to get involved in the wine tasting.
The wine tasting runs from 7 to 9 tomorrow night at the two neighboring art galleries on Lakeshore Boulevard in Marquette.
It costs $25 per person.
