Ontonagon Woman Faces Embezzlement Charges
In Ontonagon County, a woman faces up to five years in jail on embezzlement charges.
43 year old Anne Pollard was arrested after a two month investigation.
According to the Wakefield Post of the Michigan State Police, Pollard was the Treasurer for the Ontonagon Youth Hockey Association over the past two years. Members of the Association ‘s board contacted police in August over some suspicions about the finances.
The police investigation determined that a large amount of money had been taken from the youth program and converted to personal use.
A felony warrant was issued for Embezzlement by an agent or trustee between $1,000 and $20,000.
If convicted, Pollard faces up to 5 years in prison and or a $10,000 fine.
Pollard was arrested and lodged in the ontonagon county jail.
Along with other conditions, bond was set at 10% of $200,000
Officials in Ontonagon County refused to comment on whether or not Pollard is in custody.
