Arraignment Expected Wednesday in Truck-vs.-Train
A Rapid River woman is expected to be arraigned Wednesday after allegedly crashing her truck into a moving train.
Her name isn’t available yet, but State Police from the Gladstone post say she’s 45 years old.
She was arrested for operating while intoxicated.
Police say the accident happened just after 10 Friday night in Ensign Township.
A train was crossing W.5 Road, about a half-mile north of US-2.
At the railroad crossing, the woman is said to have driven her pickup truck into the side of the train.
The truck sustained severe damage, but the woman was not hurt.
The train continued heading west, and its crew never realized a crash took place.
Police are still trying to identify the train and its engineer.
