Dickinson-Gogebic-Houghton County Ballot Issues

Dickinson County only had one contested race on the ballot: for several seats on the Norway City Council. George Bal (209) did not get elected, three others did: Mark Bubloni ( 230), Christopher Gotstein (264) and Lee Meneghini (274)

Gogebic County had a few local matters on the ballot:

…Ironwood City Commission: winning candidates are Joseph Cayer, Kim Corcoran, Rick Semko, Monie Shackleford and Brandon Tower.

Wakefield had five city council seats at stake. Those were won by Richard Bolen, Joseph del Favero, Ted Finco, April Rauh and Jason White.

Wakefield voters said yes on the proposal to sell a parcel of land that the city has no plans to use just west of the city’s Eddy Park campground.

The closest race may have been in Marenisco Township. 46 percent of voters were for the millage proposal to create and fund a township public library. But a 54 percent vote defeated it.

In Houghton County, both attempts failed in Elm River Township to recall members of the township board. Township Clerk Robert Sibilsky (26 YES, 88 NO) and Trustee Jim Saur (24 YES, 90 NO) both came out victors in the recall attempts.
