Opening Night for Fuddy Meers
Claire wakes up every day with no memory of who she is. That’s the premise of the latest production of the Tech Theater Company…opening tonight at the McArdle Theater.
Patricia Helsel is the director of Fuddy Meers…a hilarious mystery chock full of colorful characters.
Fuddy Meers is an American play by David Lindsay-Abaire. It tells the story of an amnesiac, Claire, who awakens each morning as a blank slate on which her husband and teenage son must imprint the facts of her life. One morning Claire is abducted by a limping, lisping man who claims her husband wants to kill her. The audience views the ensuing mayhem through the kaleidoscope of Claire’s world. The play culminates in a cacophony of revelations, proving that everything is not what it appears to be.
The play’s title “Fuddy Meers” is an attempt by one character to pronounce the phrase “funny mirrors”.
The performance does contain adult language and is not intended for children. Fuddy Meers opens tonight at 7:30pm with additional performances this Friday and Saturday as well as next week…November 10th through the 12th. Tickets are $10. MTU Students get in free.
