Tax Break Requested
The L’Anse Council is considering another tax break for a local manufacturer. Mark Massicotte from L’Anse Manufacturing briefed council members Monday night on his company’s plans to add capacity and jobs: at least two, and potentially more.
Over the past several years, L’Anse Manufacturing has earned some important certifications that have expanded their customer base. The company is coming to the end of a six-year tax break that was granted for earlier investments. Massicotte said he plans to ask the village for a five-year, 50-percent break on the new equipment the company is getting.
A public hearing will be scheduled before the council makes a decision.
