Benishek Endorses Pete Hoekstra for U.S. Senate
Holland, Mich. – Rep. Dan Benishek (MI-01) today endorsed Pete Hoekstra for the U.S. Senate. Benishek joins Gov. Rick Snyder, Rep. Candice Miller, Rep. Huizenga and over 700 grassroots Michiganders in supporting Hoekstra.
“Pete Hoekstra is a fighter against government spending, an expert on national security, a supporter of a balanced budget and a leader for conservative values,” said Rep. Benishek. “I am proud to endorse him for the U.S. Senate and know he will be an excellent partner to have as we work to cut the deficit and revive the American dream for Michigan workers.”
A Holland-native, Hoekstra was the co-founder of the Congressional Tea Party Caucus, where he fought for fiscal responsibility, financial sustainability, and limited government.
“I would like to thank Rep. Benishek for his endorsement,” said Hoekstra. “Washington is in need of reform. Debbie Stabenow and Barack Obama have frivolously thrown taxpayer dollars at a failed stimulus package and job-killing Obamacare. I am ready to be a penny pincher in Washington and fight for the interests of Michigan workers as our state’s next U.S. Senator.”
