NWS Tornado Warning
Southern Menominee County is under a tornado warning.
The National Weather Service has the warning in place until 5:45 Central time.
The agency says its Doppler radar found a severe thunderstorm late this afternoon about 25 miles northwest of Menominee capable of producing a tornado.
The storm was moving east at about 35 miles per hour and was near Stephenson about a half-hour ago.
If you’re in the area, the NWS suggests you take cover by moving to an interior room on the lowest floor of a sturdy building, and they say you should avoid windows.
This is after a tornado touched down in Ontonagon shortly after 8 this morning.
