No Charges Issued in Fatal Motorcycle Accident
AUTHORITIES SAY THERE HAVE BEEN NO CHARGES ISSUED AT THIS TIME STEMMING FROM THE FATAL MOTORCYCLE ACCIDENT FROM EARLY WEDNESDAY MORNING.
THE INVESTIGATION IS STILL ON– GOING AND WILL TAKE A WEEK OR TWO BEFORE THEY HAVE FINISHED THEIR INVESTIGATION.
ISHPEMING CITY POLICE SAY SAMUEL JAMES MAATTA DIED FROM HIS INJURIES.
HE WAS RIDING HIS MOTORCYCLE HEADING EASTBOUND ON U–S 41 JUST BEFORE 5–30 WEDNESDAY MORNING WHEN A VEHICLE PULLED OUT IN FRONT OF HIM.
IT HAPPENED IN FRONT OF THE HOLIDAY GAS STATION IN ISHPEMING.
THE BIKE HIT A NISSAN PATHFINDER DRIVEN BY 47 YEAR OLD RODNEY MAURICE STEWART JR. OF ISHPEMING.
POLICE SAY STEWART DID NOT YIELD THE RIGHT OF WAY TO THE MOTORCYCLE.
STEWART WAS NOT INJURED IN THE ACCIDENT.
