Secretary of State Offices Hit Snafu
Lansing – The Michigan Department of Technology, Management and Budget (DTMB) is currently working to correct an outage that occurred Thursday on a mainframe computer that supports branch office systems for the Secretary of State.
While Secretary of State branch offices are open today, citizens visiting these locations will not be able to conduct business transactions until further notice.
DTMB worked through the night and continues to work this morning to correct the problem. A fiber link was broken and technicians have identified the problem, and connectivity has been restored. However, restoration to the system is not complete and branch offices are not yet able to complete business transactions.
No time estimate is available for restoration, but DTMB continues to work with vendor partners to restore operations as quickly as possible. Another update will be available after 10:00 AM to provide citizens with more information.
