Michigan Average Gas Price Just Under $4
As gas prices continue to go up, overall consumption is going down.
We’re on week 10 of increased gas prices, but consumption has dropped for the last six weeks.
Nationally, the average price for gas is $3.86, but prices in Michigan are substantially higher.
AAA Michigan says the statewide average for regular gas is up another two cents from a week ago to just under $3.98.
That’s $1.13 more than what we were paying a year ago.
The lowest gas prices in the state are in the Saginaw/Bay City/Midland area at $3.93 a gallon.
As it often is, the highest price among the areas AAA surveys is in the Marquette area.
That survey, taken in the early morning hours on Monday, shows $4.09.
During the day, many area gas stations lowered the price a few cents, to as low as $4.05 for many stores in the Ishpeming area.
Dearborn-based AAA Michigan surveys 2,800 gas stations around the state every day.
