MGH Walking and Balance Center
A third of seniors age 65 and over report some difficulty with balance or walking, and now they have a place to turn to in the U.P. for help.
Marquette General Health System has opened the Walking and Balance Center.
Rod Riesland, one of the team members who works there, says they have about 50 patients already.
Although they’ve only been open for two months, the clinic has had to extend their hours due to the number of people wanting to be seen.
Riesland says the center was intended to only be open one day every four weeks, but they’ve already changed that to every other week.
Team members of the Walking and Balance Center say that there could be an expansion in the future to accommodate the growing number of patients.
