Outdoors-Related Accolades for Marquette
Marquette has a place on yet another national list.
Outdoor Life magazine released its fourth annual list of the Top 200 Towns for Sportsmen earlier today — a list of the best places to live for those who love the outdoors.
Bend, Oregon came out on top, and it’s one of 13 Oregon communities to make the list.
Marquette placed at number 19.
The magazine scored the cities using an extensive set of criteria.
Access to abundant fishing and hunting opportunities, a high quality of life and suitability for families all played a large part in the rankings.
The list appears in the May issue of Outdoor Life, on newsstands now.
And Marquette has another accolade.
The city was recently recognized by the Arbor Day Foundation as a Tree City USA community for its commitment to urban forestry.
Marquette has earned this national designation every year for 30 years.
