Gas Prices Continue to Rise
DESPITE REPORTS OF INCREASED OIL PRODUCTION AND THE POTENTIAL FOR STABILIZED GAS PRICES, THE PRICE OF GAS IS CONTINUING TO INCREASE. IN THE MARQUETTE COUNTY AREA, GAS IS AT $3.99 A GALLON TODAY. THE NATIONAL AVERAGE FOR REGULAR SELF–SERVE FUEL HAS JUMPED UP TO $3.77.
THAT’S UP 11 CENTS FROM WEEK AGO AND 22 CENTS IN THE LAST MONTH.
GAS IS ALSO 11 CENTS HIGHER IN MICHIGAN IN THE PAST WEEK. TRIPLE–A MICHIGAN REPORTS THE EARLY–MORNING SURVEY OF CURRENT STATEWIDE AVERAGE FOR REGULAR UNLEADED GAS IS AT $3.86, UP FROM $3.75 LAST MONDAY AND $2.90 A YEAR AGO. THE LOWEST GAS PRICES IN THE STATE ARE IN THE LANSING – EAST LANSING AREAS WHERE GAS IS JUST UNDER AN AVERAGE OF $3.77 FOR REGULAR SELF–SERVE FUEL.
THE HIGHEST GAS PRICES ARE IN JACKSON AND ANN ARBOR WHERE GAS IS $3.89.
