Marquette Looks Ahead to 2012 Road Work
Many people in the U.P. refer to spring as ‘construction season’.
And the local road projects taking place this year will get underway in the next month or so.
But some people are looking ahead to next year and what can be done then.
The Marquette City Planning Commission revealed five road reconstruction projects that the city has budgeted for next year.
The two projects that are in the most heavily-traveled areas — Fifth Street from Washington to Bluff, and East Ridge Street from Cedar to just west of Lakeshore.
The planning commission recommended tonight that the city go ahead with all 5 projects.
If the City Commission votes to go ahead with the projects, they should all go out for bid sometime this fall.
