Citadel Zoning Appeal Dismissed
The zoning appeal concerning Marquette’s Citadel property has been dismissed.
Circuit Judge Thomas Solka affirmed the Marquette Board of Zoning Appeals’ approval of the Citadel development project in a 21-page ruling.
Solka said the ZBA’s decision was authorized by law.
A Marquette couple living across the street from the Citadel appealed the ZBA’s decision to allow a six–story addition to the building.
They said the construction would not fit in with the historic tone of the area.
Today’s ruling means a stay imposed on the project is lifted and the project can now begin.
Developers are planning to build four loft-style apartments at the site.
