Police Sergeant Pleads to Domestic Violence
An Ishpeming police officer who quit the force over the weekend pleads to a misdemeanor domestic violence charge.
Sgt. Ron Schultz resigned from the Ishpeming Police on Sunday.
His plea today won’t carry any jail time.
The incident only came to light recently but dates back nearly 5 years.
State Police from the Negaunee Post and the Marquette County Prosecutor’s Office investigated it.
It’s said to have happened at Schultz’s home and involved a family member who wasn’t injured.
Schultz was on the force at the time.
But the incident is said to be unrelated to his work.
