Rescue at Presque Isle Breakwall
Emergency crews make a quick rescue at Presque Isle Park this afternoon.
Around 2pm, a report was called in that someone may have fallen into Lake Superior from the Presque Isle breakwall.
According to U.S. Coast Guard Station Marquette, 26-year-old Danielle Clinton from Livonia had been walking along the rocks at the end of the breakwall.
Crashing waves kept her from being able to climb back up to the breakwall platform.
A Coast Guard crew arrived within minutes, gave the woman a life jacket, got her into their boat and took her to the Presque Isle Marina.
In addition to the Coast Guard, City of Marquette Police, fire and park officers were at the scene, as well as an EMS crew.
This comes at the end of a summer in Marquette that included four drownings.
