School Year May Not Bring More Jobs
Generally, the school year brings in more employment.
But many opportunities for local businesses and for students heading back to class just may not be available this year.
Although there may be employment opportunities within the service industry, Al Hendra of Michigan Works! in Marquette says students looking for jobs may face some hurdles when looking for a part-time pay check.
One of those hurdles may be increased competition from workers laid off from other fields.
This is also the case for parents looking for part-time work after their kids leave for school.
They may find a bit of a challenge when looking for jobs during the off-season holidays as well.
Michigan Works! recommends checking out the job opportunities available by contacting your local service agency.
