Milk Mustache Day
The “got milk?” campaign is alive and well.
And right now, it’s in the U.P.
Marquette’s Jilbert Dairy has been in business since 1937.
The original plant was located on the Jilbert family farm in Lake Linden.
And, back then, the dairy processed about 10,000 pounds of milk each month.
Now, it’s more than 4 million pounds a month.
The industry has changed over the years, too.
The business of milk has become fun for consumers with the “got milk?” campaign.
And, fun was the order of the day at the dairy this morning with Marquette mayor John Kivela proclaiming today Milk Mustache Day in the city.
It’s part of the 2010 Milk Mustache event.
Whether you drink whole, 2% or skim milk, mugging with a milk mustache for a photo op is good, clean fun.
And you can check it out at the U.P. State Fair in Escanaba.
There’s an educational element with recipes, nutritional information, and samples as well.
