Teen Girl Charged as Juvenile for Stabbing Mother
The 15-year-old girl from Perkins accused of trying to stab her mother to death is not being charged as an adult.
The Delta County Prosecutor’s office has charged her in Probate Court, meaning she’s being charged as a juvenile.
She’s accused of assault with intent to commit murder.
Her preliminary exam has been adjourned until July 7th.
The mother’s name is available today as well.
State Police from the Gladstone Post say the alleged victim is 41-year-old Norma Emmard.
The attack is said to have happened at Emard’s home at about 2 yesterday morning.
She’s in stable condition at OSF Saint Francis Hospital in Escanaba.
Her daughter is being held at the Bay Pines Youth Detention Center.
