Michigan One of 10 Most Obese U.S. States
A new survey puts Michigan on the map as one of the top 10 states facing obesity.
The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the Trust for America’s Health conducted a survey showing that adult obesity rates rose in 28 states over the last year.
Obesity rates are higher than 25% in two-thirds of all states.
Mississippi ranks at the most obese state in the country.
Michigan is tied with North Carolina at number 10, with 29 percent of the population obese.
The study showed that Michigan is 15th in the nation when it comes to residents with diabetes.
9% of all Michiganders have the disease.
