High Temps Bring Return of High Fire Danger
If the weather is nice enough for you to want to spend most of your time outdoors, the weather is just right for a fire.
That’s one approach to a quick assessment of fire danger.
The U.P. is one of a handful of places across the country experiencing an extreme drought.
The dry conditions are worst in the western U.P.
And with temperatures in the 70s and no rain in the forecast, the near-perfect weather is making for near-perfect fire conditions.
The entire U.P. is still under a DNRE ban on open debris burning.
For more on the ban or other fire safety information, you can visit the DNRE’s website about the issue here.
