Preliminary Exam for Alleged Knife Attack
A judge rules there’s enough evidence against a man accused of a knife attack for him to go to trial.
33-year-old Ryan Saari of Marquette has been bound over to Circuit Court.
He has his arraignment there a week from tomorrow.
Saari is charged with 1st-degree home invasion and felonious assault from an alleged attack on his ex-girlfriend last month.
It’s said to have happened at the Whetstone Village Apartments in Marquette.
The alleged victim was staying in her sister’s apartment at the time.
She testified that Saari forced his way in, put a knife to her throat and told her he could kill her if he wanted to.
Saari’s defense attorney claimed the alleged victim was concocting incidents against his client, trying to get him arrested for violating a personal protection order.
Judge Dennis Girard ruled that it would be best left to a jury to determine that.
