Bingo Mugger Pleads Guilty
One of the 2 people accused of robbing an elderly Ishpeming woman of her bingo winnings pleads guilty.
25-year-old Jesse Mitchell of Ishpeming was scheduled to go to trial today.
But he pleaded guilty to unarmed robbery last night.
The charges come from an incident at Ishpeming’s Pioneer Bluff Apartments.
Mitchell and 24-year-old Kasey Morcom mugged an 81-year-old woman.
They stole more than $1,000 that she’d won playing bingo that night.
Mitchell and Morcom fled to Florida’s Gulf Coast, where they were picked up for suspicious behavior and extradited back to the U.P.
Morcom already took a plea agreement, pleading guilty to larceny from a person.
Mitchell will be sentenced on March 11th.
