Water Main Break in Calumet Township
A water main break in the Keweenaw leaves hundreds of people under a boil water advisory tonight.
Michigan American Water says it happened this morning on Copper City Road in Calumet Township, just east of US-41.
They say the affected area includes people in Copper City, Ahmeek, Mohawk and both Old and New Allouez.
It’s about 750 people in all.
The company says service should be restored again sometime tonight.
But they’re asking people to boil the tap water for 5 minutes before drinking it or cooking with it.
