Jeffers HS Locked Down in Escaped Prisoner Search
A western U.P. high school is locked down while State Police look for an escaped prisoner from Camp Kitwen.
Jeffers High School in Painesdale was put on lockdown around 1 this afternoon, and the students were dismissed early.
That was about an hour after 34-year-old John Walter Wilson walked away from a work crew he was on.
He’s from Genesee County downstate, and police say he’s unfamiliar with the area.
Wilson is a white male with brown hair and brown eyes.
He’s 5’11” tall and weighs 165 pounds, and he was wearing prison blues.
If you have any information or if you’ve seen anything suspicious, State Police are asking you to call 911.
