1st Swine Flu Case at Bay College

The swine flu pandemic going on for much of the year has touched the U.P. already.

But it hadn’t made its way to any U.P. schools until now.

Officials at Bay College say a student on their main campus in Escanaba has been diagnosed with the H1N1 flu.

The student’s name isn’t being released, but the person hasn’t been on campus since Tuesday.

Officials say the student is expected to be well enough to return to Bay next week.

They also sent a letter home to all students letting them know about the situation and what they should do if they feel flu symptoms.
