1 Guilty in Horse Abuse Trial & 1 Acquitted
There’s one guilty verdict for a Delta County man accused of abusing horses he was caring for.
But the stable owner he was working for gets acquitted.
61-year-old Arnold Proehl of Rapid River has been convicted of cruelty to 4 to 10 animals.
He could be sentenced to up to 2 years in prison and a fine that could reach $2,000.
75-year-old Marvin Harris of Chicago has been found not guilty of the same charge.
Harris owned the horse farm where Proehl worked.
They were accused of animal abuse in connection with 16 horses that prosecutors said received inadequate care.
