USDA Money to Marquette Early Childhood Center
Federal officials celebrate the construction and opening of the new Brookton Child Development Center in Marquette.
The U.S. Department of Agriculture has given the Alger-Marquette Community Action Board an $800,000 loan and a $50,000 grant.
AMCAB is using the Rural Development Program money to buy equipment for the new center on Lost Creek Drive in Marquette.
The ceremony began with a ribbon-cutting for the new facility, which opened its doors to kids in January.
The property surrounding the facility was donated by Trilogy Development, which is based in Kalamazoo.
