Harvey Golf Course Donated to NMU
You could call this a late Christmas present for Northern Michigan University.
The owners of the Chocolay Golf Club donated the entire 18-hole course, and everything on it, to NMU.
The course, equipment, and buildings are worth about $1.6 million.
Northern officials say they’re excited about the opportunities this could provide for students, especially environmental science students.
All proceeds from the club will go to scholarships and academic programs.
Club members will hear soon about the change in ownership, once all the transition details are finished, but the school isn’t looking at changing too many things.
The former owners who made the donation are Joe and Patsie Gibbs.
Their daughter attended NMU.
