Shoveling for Seniors
Winter storms can be a struggle for any of us to get out from under.
But for many, that task is nearly impossible.
Many area elders live alone in homes they’re unable to shovel or snowblow their way out of.
Because of that, the Marquette Senior Center is heading up an effort to match shovelers with seniors who could use a hand.
Either group can sign up, and the pay rates and scheduling are coordinated between them.
The shoveling program has been around for a couple of years now, and staff at the center say they’re seeing good response after this week’s winter blast.
If you’re interested in being put on the list, you can call the Marquette Senior Center at 228-0456.
