New Call Center Replacing ACN at Sawyer

K.I. Sawyer had to absorb 150 lost jobs earlier this year when the ACN call center closed.

Now, a new company has moved in.

It’s a Florida company called Global Response.

They’ve taken over ACN’s lease at Telkite Technology Park, and they’re planning to hie about 150 people over the next year.

The new call center is going to take calls for National Geographic and Hershey’s chocolates.

The calls start coming in tomorrow, and there’ll be a grand opening later this month.

Global Response has had a call center in Iron River for the last 2 years.

It takes reservations for Michigan state parks.

ACN left Sawyer after receiving millions of dollars in state grants and property tax incentives.

The jobs moved to North Carolina.
