UPDATE — Monday, June 13th at 6:35 p.m.

The name of the man accused of breaking into homes and vehicles in Escanaba has been identified.

Twenty-five year-old Harley Finnerty was arraigned in Delta County Circuit Court Monday on five counts, including second degree home invasion and attempted second degree home invasion.

Finnerty is due back in court for a preliminary exam June 30th.

ESCANABA — A man has been arrested in connection to several thefts in the Escanaba area.

Escanaba Public Safety say they responded to a home invasion on the 1400 block of North 20th Street around 4:00 a.m. on Saturday.

Shortly after, they were dispatched to another call of a man searching through a vehicle. Further investigation into the calls revealed several vehicles has been broken into with property stolen.

A 25-year old male was subsequently arrested and charged with two counts of larceny from a motor vehicle and one count of malicious destruction of property.

He is currently lodged at the Delta County Correctional Facility pending arraignment.
