Pre-Kindergarten Through 6th Grade Students To Be Required To Wear Masks In Marquette County
Starting Thursday, pre–kindergarten through 6th grade students in Marquette County will be required to wear masks in school.
The mandate also requires all people who work with children in that age group to wear a mask.
Both the Marquette Area Public School Board and Ishpeming’s School Board are expected to meet today at 5:30.
The county is currently at a high Covid–19 transmission level.
The Marquette County Health Department said 30% of cases within the last seven days have been in children under 18 years of age.
The mandate will be lifted when the county is at moderate to low risk of Covid-19 transmission.
